The Paestum Foundation announces the Second Edition of the International Conference "Dialogue on the archeology of Magna Grecia and the ancient Mediterranean “. The theme for the edition of 2017 is: The Memory.

The theme will be first discussed in a cultural anthropological profile and through the study of specific situations. The conference will focus on the construction of the memory to be transmitted to the reconstruction-memory manipulation in the contemporary world, with discussion, very intense in the more recent contributions, on timeless issue of the relationship between the oral tradition and the final form of the story come down to us. 

The debate will address the topic starting from the archaeological monument and signs of which was loaded by those who made it. In the second and third day (29-30 June 2017) will be presented papers and posters of all scholars who answered the call. New this year is the fact that besides the four traditional sections (urban settlements and land - Contexts, Production and Circulation - Artistic Forms - Restoration and Enhancement) there will be a section devoted to the same theme of the opening day. The debate will address the issue starting from the archaeological monument and signs of which was loaded by those who made it. New this year is the fact that besides the four traditional sections (Urban Settlements and Landscape Archeology - Contexts, Production and Circulation - Artistic Forms - Restoration and Enhancement) there will be a section devoted to the same theme of the opening day. The chronological cut (both the paper that the poster) begins from the Bronze Ageuntil the end of antiquity and the space is the Mediterranean. Proposals must be related to reports of new findings, interpretations and reinterpretations of contexts and must be sent by March 25, 2017 from www.dialarchmed.com site. The accepted language is Italian, English, French, German and Spanish.
