Archaeology and Metal Detectors
Sponsored by Museum and Gallery in Prostějov
Thursday, October 19, 2017 - 5:00pm

Location:
Museum and gallery in Prostějov
nám. T. G. Masaryka 2
Prostějov 79601
Czechia

The lecture will deal with the actual problem of not only Czech archaeology. Metal detectors although banned from amateur archaeology are widely (and illegaly) used and only some part of the metal artifacts are broght by treasure hunters to the museums. The other part of the assemblage is lost forever and the unique archaeological information as well.

The lecture is given by archaeologists M. Popelka and I. Čižmář.
