The archaeological site “Simonov zaliv” is a cultural monument of national importance. It boasts the best preserved and researched remains of a Roman seaside villa with a port in Slovenia.

During the last two years the project AS - Archaeology for all was taken place, with objectivies to present the archaeological site of Simonov zaliv, establishing the first underwater archaeological park in Slovenia, establishing a modern interpretation centre in the archaeological park, increas tourist fer with the aid of itineraries with cultural contents and increased accessibility for visitors with disabilities.PArt of The presentation of the site included the restavration nad conservation of the mosaics and excavations in room 5 of southern part of the villa complex.

In the exhibition we would like to present the results of that excavation as some new informations was gathered regarding layering of the mosaics and the collapse of the villa after its abandonment at the end of the 1st century.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a workshop showing the archaeological work with the help of sandboxes and the presentation of educational cases related to themes from the roman life such as writing, hygene and games.
