The Milwaukee Society will host an event entitled "Life After Fieldwork: Archaeological Analysis Behind the Scenes at UW-Milwaukee's Archaeological Research Laboratory" on October 22, 2011 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in Sabin Hall, Room 275 (3413 North Downer Ave, Milwaukee). Professors and graduate students of archaeology working on archaeological material from Wisconsin, Mexico, Sicily and Germany will be on hand to demonstrate what they are working on and how. Learn how archaeologists study their sites and finds by applying such scientific techniques as GIS (Geographic Information Systems), petrographic and X-Ray fluorescence analysis of pottery, osteological sex and age determination of skeletal material, and experimental archaeology.
