The Frank H. McClung Museum is collaborating with the AIA-East Tennessee Society to plan a National Archaeology and National Fossil Day event for families, university students, and faculty. Activities will include tables with graduate students and professors identifying artifacts, fossils, rocks, and faunal remains, hands-on events for children, as well as the demonstration of archaeological field equipment. Researchers from the University of Tennessee's Archaeological Research Lab and graduate students from the University of Tennessee's Anthropology Department will be presenting their research and discussing various archaeological field projects currently under way throughout the region. For ongoing updates about events check out the East Tennessee AIA Society webpage (shown on this page), on Twitter @EastTennAIA, or follow us on Facebook!
