SUMMARY:INTERNATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGY DAY | The Chateau Mikulov
DESCRIPTION:Saturday’s celebrations in Archeopark Pavlov (branch of the Regional museum in Mikulov) will be followed by the Exhibition “The Romans and the Germans in the region under Pálava” at the Chateau in Mikulov. On Sunday\, October 20\, visitors will also be able to visit this archaeological exhibition for free. At 3 p.m.\, there will be a guided tour of the exhibition with the director of the museum\, Petr Kubín. On this day\, the exhibition will include the traditional presentation of objects found by amateur researchers in cooperation with the Regional Museum in Mikulov. The program is also aimed at kids who will be able to familiarize themselves with Roman culture and the culture of the Germanic people in a playful way.

DESCRIPTION:This free\, family-friendly program offers the public a unique chance to delve into the field of archaeology and connect with experts through a day of experiential learning. “Can You Dig It?” will be held at the museum from noon to 4 pm. \nAttendees will dig deep into the past through educational activities\, crafts\, and displays led by University of Tennessee\, Knoxville researchers\, professors\, and graduate students. The event will feature a wide range of engaging options\, including cave art painting\, hunter-gatherer games\, and the chance to craft pottery\, perfumes\, and much more. \nTraditionally observed in mid-October\, International Archaeology Day raises awareness about the study of archaeology through a multitude of events and programs. In celebration of the day\, the McClung Museum has partnered with professional archaeologists and units across the UT campus to bring the celebration of International Archaeology Day to the Knoxville community.

Touch replicas and smell “ancient” scents as the students bring the past alive.\nVisitors may drop in at the scheduled times. No reservation is required.
