SUMMARY:Archaeology Day at Mission San Jose\, San Antonio
DESCRIPTION:The Southwest Texas Archaeological Society will participate in the Mission San Jose (San Antonio\, Texas) Archaeology Day on October 21st\, 2023. Our society will put together a hands-on activity for children. We plan to organize the activity around the ancient Maya calendar\, so that kids can learn how the ancient Maya wrote numbers and calculated dates. Our activity will also provide an introduction to ancient Maya hieroglyphic writing.
