In the Northeast\, researchers agree that caribou was the top priority game animal. These animals were essential for not only food but also clothing and shelter. As simple as this sounds\, documenting caribou hunting and understanding how it was integrated with social organization and how people dispersed over the landscape is quite complex with many unanswered questions.
