Project Description:

Archaeological excavation campaign of Ancient Salona is adopted for students, adventurists, archaeology amateurs, volunteers and others willing to learn more about archaeology of this region and who wish to experience the thrill of discovery. Research and restoration program shall be performed by an expert team of the Archaeological Museum of Split while the program of transfers, excursions, guides and accommodation is organized by Ventula Travel Agency. This program offers a variety of benefits for all it’s participants. The intention of this joint project is sustainable development of local community through archaeological excavation that is going to be partially financed from this program.

Activites include archaeological excavations, restoration, documentation, professional lectures, organized tours, diving course (optional), activities inside Tourist Resort.

*In a case of rain, the project envisions indoors activities such as finds processing, documentation, restoration and workshops.

Project Size: 1-24 participants

Minimum Length of Stay for Volunteers: 15 days / 14 nights

Minimum Age: 16

Experience Required: Experience is not necessary. By application, every participant will receive a manual that will explain all details in regarding archaeological practice and field work.

Room and Board Arrangements:
TOURIST RESORT RESNIK 2* - Located in the green area between two towns which are under protection of UNESCO - Trogir and Split. Situated just by the sea coast with its own beach, Resnik resort offers you a pleasant accommodation with numerous recreation and sport activities. Hotel Resnik provides you: parking lot, air-conditioned restaurant in a central building, restaurant on the terrace, coffee bar on the beach. Resnik resort is situated in a large area of 110 000m2. Accommodation facilities are categorized with 2 stars. Hotel complex consists of bungalows, pavilions and other facilities with hotel rooms, located in the sea coast with its own beach in length of approximate 1000 m. Excavation site SALONA is situated 10 – 15 mins drive from Resnik resort. Accommodation is in bungalows with AC for max. 4 persons on ALL INCLUSIVE base. ALL INCLUSIVE INCLUDES: Rich buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, drinks included with meals (table wine, draft beer, water and juices). EXTRA CHARGE SERVICES: Food and drinks on a terrace of grill restaurant, drinks in a beach restaurant, usage of deckchairs and sunshades, usage of a safe deposit box, usage of sand tennis courts. Free Wi Fi NOTE: As excavations take place in October on the second week, there might be a situation in which we would need to change accommodation location.
