Senior Archeologist/Program Manager
Hicks & Company, an Austin, Texas-based environmental consulting firm is seeking a professional archeologist to head its archeology department. Candidates must meet or exceed the National Park Service minimum standards for a professional archeologist as well as the Texas Historical Commission's minimum standards for Archeological Principal Investigator. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of overseeing archeological projects with completed Phase I through III Texas Antiquities Committee Permits held in their name. Ideally, candidates will be TxDOT 2.10.1 precertified and have working familiarity with that agency's Standards of Uniformity for environmental coordination. Previous experience with NEPA, NHPA, and Antiquities Code of Texas (ACT) guidelines, protocols, and coordination criteria is essential for this position. Previous experience in managing projects at a senior level is preferred. Familiarity with themes of Texas history and prehistory and interpretation of sites and artifacts found in all regions of the state is preferred. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are important.
