Archaeological Digital Photography Internship
The Archaeological Digital Photography Intern will be responsible for assisting the Research Department Staff in completing a digital photographic inventory of objects held in trust by WHC.
During the course of the internship, the intern will photograph artifacts in the Weeksville collection, including ceramics, tools, glass objects, and additional early 19th century historical objects. The intern should display basic knowledge of archaeological laboratory procedures such as artifact care and preservation and digital photography. The intern will also provide assistance to the Research Department Staff with artifact description, access, retrieval, and preservation using our collections management database, PastPerfect.
Prospective interns should be B.A. or M.A. level students in Preservation, Archaeology, History, Museum Studies, Material Culture Studies or a related field and demonstrate knowledge in studio photography, knowledge of lighting and digital file formats. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply. Applicants should have strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently. They must be available weekdays, have excellent organizational, research and communication skills, and knowledge of MS Word and Excel (PC). Knowledge of PastPerfect is preferred, but not required.
