The Faculty of Classics is seeking to appoint to a University Lectureship in Classics (Classical Archaeology) from 01 September 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The post is open to those with a primary research interest in the archaeology of the Mediterranean at any time in the period 1200 BCE–600 CE.
The successful applicant will benefit from the world-class facilities offered by the University and the generous support of research and teaching provided by the Faculty. The Faculty currently teaches approx. 250 undergraduates reading Classics (all of whom study both Greek and Latin language to degree level)and almost 100 graduate students (reading for Masters and doctoral degrees). It is one of the leading international centres in Classics, with some 40 teachers in Faculty and College posts. The successful candidate will be expected to take a full share of teaching and examining across the range of Classical Archaeology at all levels from beginners to graduates, to carry out research and to assist in administration as appropriate.
