Christopher Ratté is Associate Professor with the Department of Classical Studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He earned his degrees at Harvard and the University of California at Berkeley (M.A. and Ph.D.), and his research interests are the archaeology of Asia Minor, and Greek and Roman architecture and urbanism. He has conducted extensive fieldwork at Aphrodisias (Turkey) and Vani (Georgia), and his main publications include the Aphrodisias Papers 4 (ed. with R.R.R. Smith, Journal of Roman Archaeology Supplementary Series 70, 2008) and Lydian Architecture (forthcoming, Harvard/Cornell Sardis Expedition). Professor Ratté is the AIA’s Hanfmann Lecturer for 2010/2011.
