AIA Lecturer: Christopher Stevenson

Affiliation: Virginia Department of Historic Resources

Dr. Stevenson is with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, and holds his M.A. and Ph.D. in Anthropology from the Pennsylvania State University. His fields of specialization are Easter Island landscape studies, obsidian dating, provenance studies, elemental analysis, and hydrothermal experimentation; he has conducted field work on Easter Island, in Israel, and various sites in the Eastern and Southwestern United States. Dr. Stevenson has received various awards for his work on Easter Island, including an Aviva/Earthwatch Award for Climate Change Research, and a No Barriers Award from the Kon-Tiki Museum in Norway.
