AIA Lecturer: Jeffrey A. Becker

Jeffrey A. Becker is Visiting Assistant Professor of Classics with the Department of Classics at McMaster University, and the Managing Director of the Gabii Project in Rome. He holds his degrees in Classical Archaeology from Franklin & Marshall College, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (M.A. and Ph.D.). Professor Becker’s areas of specialization are Roman and Italic archaeology, architecture and art, Mediterranean urbanism, and Roman topography; he has conducted fieldwork at a number of sites in Rome, including the Palatine NE excavations, the Villa delle Grotte, as well as in the Cecina Valley in the territory of Volterra.
