AIA Lecturer: Jessica Lamont

Jessica Lamont is Assistant Professor of Classics at Yale University, and she holds her degrees from Johns Hopkins University (Ph.D.) and the College of William & Mary.  Her research interests are Greek history, epigraphy, religion, and the material culture of the Archaic through the early Hellenistic periods (c.750-300 BCE), with a special interest in Greek medicine and magic.  She is involved in fieldwork in Greece and Ethiopia, and her current book projects examine the shifting notions of health and disease in Classical Greece, and the history of Greek curse tablets and the traffic in magic in Classical antiquity.  Professor Lamont is the 2020/2021 AIA Thompson Lecturer.
