AIA Lecturer: Jitse H.F. Dijkstra

Jitse H.F. Dijkstra is Associate Professor with the Department of Classics and Religious Studies at the University of Ottawa. He earned his degrees at the University of Groningen (M.A. and Ph.D.), and his areas of specialization are Egypt in Late Antiquity, Coptic papyrology, and epigraphy. He has conducted fieldwork in Aswan and Elephantine, Egypt, as well as in Italy, the Netherlands, Greece, and England. He has published his research widely, has held several scholarships and fellowships, and was awarded the 2008 Professor of the Year Award by the Ottawa Student Association (Classics). He is also the President of the AIA Ottawa Society.
