John Ramsey is Professor of Classics, and Head of the Department of Classics & Mediterranean Studies, with the University of Illinois at Chicago. He holds an M.A. in Literae humaniores (Ancient History, and Ancient and Modern Philosophy) from Balliol College, Oxford, and a Ph.D. in Classical Philology from Harvard University. His specialties are Latin prose, Roman history of the late Roman Republic, and Greco-Roman comets.
