Professor Roger Matthews works at the Institute for Archaeology at University College London. He received his BA from the University of Manchester and his PhD in Mesopotamian Archaeology from the University of Cambridge. He specializes in the archaeology and ancient history of Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Iran. In the past, Dr. Matthews has worked at many sites throughout the Middle East, including Tell Brak, Syria, Catalhoyuk, Turkey, and Jemdet Nasr, Iraq. He is currently the director of the Central Zagros Archaeological Project.
