Ronald Stroud is the Emeritus Klio Distinguished Professor of Classical Languages and Literature with the University of California at Berkeley; in 2006 he received a Berkeley Citation, the highest award that the UC Berkeley Campus can bestow. He holds his degrees from the University of Toronto (B.A.) and the University of California at Berkeley (Ph.D.), and his fields of specialization are Greek history, literature, and epigraphy. He has done extensive work excavating and publishing the sanctuary of Demeter at Corinth, and other publications include Drakon’s Law of Homicide, The Axones and Kyrbeis of Drakon and Solon, Supplementum Epigraphicum Graecum (editor, 26 volumes, with H. W. Pleket and A. Chaniotis), and The Athenian Grain Tax Law of 374/3 B.C. Professor Stroud is the AIA Norton Lecturer for 2010/2011.
