AIA Lecturer: William Biers

William Biers is Professor Emeritus with the Department of Art History and Archaeology at the University of Missouri, Columbia.  He received his undergraduate degree from Brown University, and his Ph.D. in Classical Archaeology from the University of Pennsylvania.  Professor Biers specializes in Greek archaeology and ceramics (especially “plastic” vases), and in ancient technologies. Throughout his career, Professor Biers has played an active role in the AIA, serving as president of the Missouri Society as well as serving on many committees and boards.
