Thanks to an AIA Society Outreach Grant, students from an 11th grade class at the District School Board of Niagara Academy visited Brock University for a campus tour and an event at the Department of Classics.

Dr. Carrie Murray led the students on a tour of the Cypriote Museum and then provided a lesson in archaeological illustration in the archaeology lab using artifacts from the collection. The students were excited to each have an ancient sherd and figurine to draw. The student drawings now hanging in a Museum display case show the students' newly found skills in recording artifacts and artistic subjectivity needed for interpretation and analysis. The Society hopes that this is the first of many events like it at the Department of Classics.
