The Council of the AIA is made up of the Governing Board, Honorary Presidents, Chairmen of the Managing Committees of all American Schools that the Institute has founded, the Presidents of all affiliated Local Societies, and additional delegates from each Society (depending on its size). The Council meets once a year at the AIA-SCS Annual Meeting.

Important Deadlines for Council Members
November 3, 2017: Society Presidents will receive an email from AIA Governance with instructions on how to appoint your delegates to Council (if applicable). Action from ALL Society Presidents is required.
November 17, 2017: Society Presidents MUST submit Form A, which lists the name and email of their delegates to Council.
December 1, 2017: Council Packets, including absentee ballots and limited proxy forms, will be sent electronically to all delegates. Print copies will be offered by request only.
December 15, 2017: Final deadline for submitting all absentee ballots and/or limited proxy forms to Headquarters. As this is a busy time of year, we strongly recommend turning in materials earlier (especially if you are submitting them by postal mail) to ensure delivery.
