Open Position at AIA: Grant Writer

The Archaeological Institute of America seeks a well-organized, self-motivated, and professional grant writer. This individual will report directly to the Executive Director. The Grant Writer will be responsible for creating, overseeing, and implementing all grant opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research and identify new grant opportunities and foundations
- Write and develop longstanding grant applications
- Write reports for all grants received
- Work with Executive Director and Director of Development to establish relationships with funders
- Maintain grant tracker and calendar deadlines for upcoming grants and reports due
- Collaborate with Executive Director and Director of Development to create and maintain up-to-date budgets used in applications and reporting
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of two years grant writing experience
- Must have proven track record of securing federal grants, private foundation grants, as well as business grants
- Excellent knowledge of proposal submission, fundraising processes
- Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements
- Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet upcoming deadlines and events
