SUMMARY:Fort Morris Historic Site Public Archaeology Day
DESCRIPTION:Join the Office of the State Archaeologist (OSA) at Fort Morris as they reveal how archaeological investigations help protect and interpret historic resources at Georgia’s State Parks and Historic Sites. \nWatch as OSA conducts archaeological testing inside the historic fort\, and best of all\, you can roll up your sleeves and work with OSA yourself! Participate side-by-side with the archaeologists and see how Ground Penetrating Radar is used by archaeologists\, then meet other experts from Georgia Southern University’s Archaeology program\, the University of Georgia’s Laboratory of Archaeology\, the Springfield Legacy Foundation\, and the Society of Georgia Archaeology. Don’t miss this rare chance to experience real archaeological work as it happens.
