SUMMARY:Excavate Virtual Egyptian Artifacts Online
DESCRIPTION:This activity is fun for all ages. Play the archaeology inspired Excavate! Egypt™ game online in celebration of International Archaeology Day. This is a virtual all-day event. \nExplore four culturally important “dig sites” including Alexandria\, Giza\, Valley of the Kings\, and Karnak. There are over 50 artifacts to uncover and analyze. Explore a worker’s village in Giza and the temple of Karnak\, that highlight very different lifestyles and illustrate social class differences. Investigate the Valley of the Kings\, where past Pharaohs are mummified. Examine the library at Alexandria to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of learning and studying. Visit the sites in any order; your progress will be recorded in journals that log collected artifacts\, field notes and achievements.  At each location\, make meaning of how artifacts were used through a series of analysis questions and reports that help you consider the historical context of the primary source artifacts to make connections. \nPlay The Game – https://games.dig-itgames.com/game_directory/excavate-egypt-free/ \nArchaeology Day Blog – https://dig-itgames.com/international-archaeology-day-2021/ \nExcavate! Egypt Game Info – https://dig-itgames.com/portfolio/excavate-egypt-world-history-lesson-game/ \nAsk The Game Developer \nFrom 9:00AM to 5:00PM the team at DiG-iT! Games® including archaeologist Suzi Keehn (Wilczynski) will be available to answer questions through our help desk channel (https://digitgames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) or social medial channels (@digitgames) about the game. \nPlay After October 16 \nCan’t find time to play on archaeology day? Excavate! Egypt is always free to play online. Play it with the family or integrate it into lesson plans in schools\, museums and other cultural activities.
