This lecture will be presented by Professor Jared Benton of Old Dominion University.  Dr. Benton holds a PhD from the University of Virginia in Classical Art and Archaeology. He is the field supervisor for the Contrada Agnese Project, part of the American excavations at Morgantina in central Sicily. An expert on the art and material culture of sub-elites in the Roman world, Dr. Benton has published on craftsmen, bakers and blacksmiths in Roman iconography and archaeology.
