Come celebrate the inaugural National Archaeology Day with an afternoon of hands-on activities, demonstrations, tours, and a lecture by a world-renowned archaeologist!  Kick off this fun, cultural experience by listening to a lecture by Dr. Steven Holen, Curator of Archaeology at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.  Then spend the afternoon taking a trip back in time by exploring the labs of University of Iowa faculty members, touring the Office of the State Archaeologist, seeing demonstrations of early tools, art and technology, and making your own version of a Neolithic plaque.
