2026 Bartman Internship Scholarship Winners Announced

Congraulations to the 3 recipients of the AIA’s Elizabeth Bartman Museum Internship Scholarship, meant to support undergraduates, graduate students, or those who have recently completed a master’s degree with the expenses associated with participating in a museum internship either in the United States or abroad. Meet the scholars and the museums they will be interning at:

Camdyn Johnson (University of Southern Maine) will intern at the Maine State Museum, conducting research on the prehistoric subsistence strategies of indigenous populations. Camdyn’s research and work will also collaborate with local indigenous communities in Maine and will ultimately help to update the 12,000 Years of Maine exhibit at the Museum.

Edmilison de Pina Leal’s (Universidade de São Tomé e Príncipe) internship at the Museu de Aveiro – Santa Joana will focus on the museum’s inventory of ceramics, particularly the collection of ceramics produced in Aveiro during 14th and 19th centuries and widely traded throughout the Portuguese colonial empire.

Sabrina Yeahia (University of Illinois Chicago) will intern at the Field Museum of Natural History, where she will aid the curatorial, research, collections, and exhibitions staff in the early developmental phases of the “Native Metal” exhibit – part of the Native Truths: Our Stories, Our Voices hall.
