Dr. Britt Hartenberger will discuss microarchaeological approaches to life at the northern Greek city of Olynthos. Her research has included archaeological excavation and lithics and ceramics analysis at urban sites in Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, and Iraq. Her specialty is craft production and household organization in the Bronze and Iron Ages, as attested by numerous published papers.
Her work at Olynthos (Greece) focused on household analysis, based on the study of microdebris (microscopic remains of human activity) and how these materials illuminate our understanding of domestic life in this vibrant ancient city.
