AIA Governing Board Nomination Form

The Nominating Committee is currently accepting nominations for the following positions, with terms beginning in January 2027:

Vice President for Cultural Heritage

  • One (1) open position
  • Nominees traditionally do not run unopposed (2 nominees for each open position)
  • Two-year term, eligible for renewal

General Trustee

  • Two (2) open positions
  • Nominees traditionally run unopposed (1 nominee for each open position)
  • Three-year term, eligible for renewal

Academic Trustee

  • Two (2) open positions
  • Nominees traditionally do not run unopposed (2 nominees for each open position)
  • Three-year term, eligible for renewal

Society Trustee

  • One (1) open position
  • Nominees traditionally do not run unopposed (2 nominees for each open position)
  • Three-year term, eligible for renewal

AIA Governing Board Nomination Form 2026

Thank you for taking the time to submit a nomination for the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) Governing Board. Board members should demonstrate a strong interest in archaeology and a general knowledge of the field. They are expected to actively engage in governance and contribute to initiatives that support the AIA’s fundraising goals and organizational needs. Self-nominations are strongly encouraged. All submissions will be carefully reviewed by the Nominating Committee. Submission Deadline: Thursday, April 30
