Angeliki Alygizaki was born and grew up in Chania, Crete. She studied History and Archaeology at the University of Crete and she currently continues her studies as a postgraduate student of Byzantine Archaeology and History of Byzantine Art. She has participated in the University of Crete excavations at Gavdos island and Eleftherna and in the field surveys of Miamou and Porti in the Messara region. She worked as an intern at the Institute of Mediterranean Studies within the program ” Recapturing the Dynamics of the Early Byzantine Settlements in Crete “.
