Yiannos Petrou was born in Limassol, Cyprus, in 1987. He graduated from the department of History and Archeology at the University of Athens. He is currently a postgraduate student of prehistoric archaeology at the same university. He has participates in several excavations, including ancient Alassarna in Kos, Amygdalia hill in Patra, West hills (Filopappou, Pnyka) area in Athens.
