Materials Lab Workshop: How to Draw a Pot

October 18 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Harvard Art Museums
32 Quincy Street
Cambridge, MA 02138 United States

AIA Society: Boston

Hand-drawn, painstakingly measured illustrations of excavated artifacts are key tools in archaeological research. Celebrate International Archaeology Day by joining Cathy Alexander, archaeological illustrator for Harvard’s Archaeological Exploration of Sardis in western Türkiye, and Caitlin Chien Clerkin, archaeologist and research curator for ancient art, to learn how these technical drawings are made and used. Then try your hand at the precise drafting process yourself!
