From the Governing Board of the Archaeological Institute of America: “Sense of the Meeting”

The Governing Board of the AIA at its meeting on October 25, 2014, in Providence, R.I., unanimously expressed its dismay at the recent sale of Egyptian artifacts by the AIA St. Louis Society in contravention of the ethical standards current in archaeology. The AIA Governing Board intends to take all necessary steps to address the issues this raises. The Governing Board will make appropriate recommendations to the Council of the Institute at its forthcoming meeting in January 2015.
