Lecture Today: “The Wonderful Things of Punt: Excavations at a Pharaonic Harbor on the Red Sea”


Kathryn A. Bard is Professor of Archaeology at Boston University. She edited The Encyclopiada of the Archaeology of Ancient Egypt (1999). She is a recipient of the National Geographic Society’s Chairman’s Award for Exploration in 1998, as well as an Elected Fellow, American Academy of Arts and Sciences, in 2010.

The University Lecture at Boston University was established in 1950 to honor members of the faculty engaged in outstanding research. It provides an opportunity for all members of the University community – as well as the general public – to meet a distinguished scholar discussing a topic of recognized excellence.
