Local Lecture Grants Application for AIA Societies

Lecture Grants for Societies

In addition to the one in-person lecture that all societies will receive, the AIA will provide 76 grants of $300 each to Societies looking to organize an additional lecture or lectures (virtual or in-person).  If you have multiple lectures planned, we recommend applying for each of your lectures.

Each of these 76 grants carries the name of someone special to the AIA community; some are designated for a specific topic or area.  Other named grants can support lectures given on any topic. If possible, we will give each society that applies one grant before awarding any society an additional grant.  If you apply for multiple lectures, you will automatically be considered for additional grants as funds allow.

Application Process

We will accept applications through October 31. Decisions will be made as soon as possible after applications are received, with the first round of award notifications going out in early September.  Priority will be given to applications that meet the geographic or topical requirements set forth by established endowments. Learn more about all our named lectures (Note: we will match up the lectures you apply for to an appropriate named lecture grant—you don’t need to do this!).

Funding Decisions

Decisions will be announced by email as soon as possible The first round of grants will be awarded in early September. Applications will continue to be reviewed through the end of October.
