Hovenweep House / Hovenweep National Monument
Cortez, Colorado, United States
Category: Archaeological Landscapes
Is located on land in southwestern Colorado and southeastern Utah, between Cortez, Colorado and Blanding, Utah. There are indications of occupation going back to Paleo-Indians, and the site was abandoned by Ancestral Puebloans in the late 1200s. Hovenweep became a National Monument in 1923 and is administered by the National Park Service.
