Under the Sea

Grande Terre Island, Aldabra Atoll, Seychelles

Category: Fun Finds

This iron structure, covered with coral and algae growth, is part of a shipwreck in the Indian Ocean. The ship, named the “Lion,” was wrecked in 1901 on the south side of Grande Terre Island. The wreck is found at a depth of 30-50 feet which makes for an easy dive in the relatively clear, warm water – a good subject for a marine archaeologist.
