Lost at Sea

Ducie Island, South Pacific Ocean, Pitcairn Archipelago, Pitcairn

Category: Fun Finds

This anchor, at an ocean depth of about 50 feet, was one of several seen near the site of the wreck “Acadia,” a mail ship that ran aground off Ducie Island on June 5, 1881. A marine archaeologist is needed to establish its origin.
