Public Engagement Award

The AIA’s new Public Engagement Award is a great way to acknowledge your Society’s outreach programs, as well as a great way to share your ideas with other Societies. For this award, public engagement is defined as outreach and partnerships that benefit non-specialist audiences. As an example, several AIA-Princeton Society members will be eligible this year because of their involvement in a Society sponsored coloring book for kids during International Archaeology Day. The coloring book highlights the history of archaeology in Princeton. The effort is in collaboration with the Princeton Public Library and the Visual Resources Division of Princeton University’s Department of Art and Archaeology.  What outreach programs did your Society accomplish during September 2024 through August 2025? Have you or any of your fellow Society Officers or members worked on a project to increase public engagement? Fill out the nomination form by October 1, and share with other members how your Society has been increasing the awareness and excitement around archaeology with the public.
