Meg Ventrudo, Executive Director of the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art, will present a talk on Tibetan Architecture, Stupas and Mandalas. The presentation will include images from her 2013 trip to Tibet and images of stupas and mandalas in the Museum’s collection. Tibetan Architecture is noted for its flat roofs, trapezoid shape windows and other distinct features. Stupas are free-standing architectural mounds that usually contain sacred relics associated with the Buddha. Tibetan pilgrims walk around stupas in clockwise fashion as an act of pilgrimage.
