The Next Generation Speaks Up at the AIA-NY Society’s Student Symposia

The AIA-New York Society organized and hosted a grad/post grad symposium called the “Next Generation Speaks Up” as its National Archaeology Day event. This event gave students from a range of NYC schools to come and present to a mixed audience of their peers, academics, and the general public. The presentations were varied, and included folks from NYU, various CUNY schools and a student from SUNY Buffalo. The presentations went quite well and covered a wonderful range of topics.  Following the talks there was a reception for all.

AIA-New York Society President, Paula Lazrus, hopes this will become an annual event and provide a great forum for grad students to begin to engage in their own outreach efforts.  The whole activity benefited from the generous support of one of the AIA-NY Society members and Friend, Louis Blumengarten.
