National Archaeology Day Lecture in the Norma Kershaw Auditorium

Dr. Eric Canin, cultural anthropologist specializing in religion and millennial movements, lecturer, CSU Fullerton, Department of Anthropology. The ancient Maya built an extraordinary civilization that captures our imagination today. Did the Maya prophecy the end of the world in December 2012, or is this modern myth?  The Bowers Museum houses a replica of the tomb wherein lays one of the greatest Maya kings, who may help us unravel this mystery. Come and see what Lord Pakal, 7th century AD ruler of Palenque, has to say about the future.
