Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology
The 56th annual meeting of the Midwest Archaeological Conference (MAC) will be held at Indiana University’s Indiana Memorial Union from October 21 – 24, 2010. The Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology at Indiana University will be hosting the 2010 MAC meeting in celebration of its 45 years of innovative archaeology. Several exciting sessions and events are being organized, including symposia on Indiana archaeology, new research at Angel Mounds, geoarchaeology in the Ohio valley, and late prehistoric populations/cultures in the midcontinent. A lithic exchange event, curation workshop, and field trips to the Angel Mounds and the Indiana State Museum are also planned.
Early meeting registration is due by Monday, September 20, 2010. After this date, registration can only be done on-site at the meeting.
The deadline for symposium, paper, and poster proposals is Monday, September 6, 2010. Each paper is limited to 15 minutes and you must be an active 2010 MAC member to submit a proposal as the primary author or organizer.
Students are strongly encouraged to participate in the meeting and to enter the Student Paper Competition. Papers entered into this student competition must be submitted for review by Monday, September 20, 2010. Each student that submits a paper by this deadline will receive a complimentary Saturday banquet ticket and a conference t-shirt.
