The Archaeological Institute of America is made up of members from around the world who share a passion for archaeology. When you join the AIA as a Society Member, you’ll receive exclusive benefits and discounts. You’ll also support our education, outreach, and preservation programs that promote and protect the wonders of our past for future generations.
Society Membership
To join or renew, please select your desired membership category. You can choose your desired AIA Society affiliation from the “Group” pull-down menu on the application form. If you do not wish to be affiliated with a particular society, choose "999-Member At Large." Please allow up to four weeks to process payments. All prices are in U.S. dollars. Memberships are nonrefundable except for the portion applied to ARCHAEOLOGY magazine.

Members Outside of the US: There are additional shipping charges to mail publications outside of the U.S. Please review the dues instructions at the top of the appropriate form.

AJA Electronic Subscriptions: The American Journal of Archaeology is now offering an electronic subscription option. If you wish to change your subscription or start a new electronic or combo subscription, please contact the AIA’s Membership Office.

The membership contribution portion of each level is tax-deductible to the extent provided by law. Publications are not tax-deductible as contributions but may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense.
* Proof of current full-time student status is required.
* Discount for teachers and active military personnel: Soldiers serving in active military duty and K-12 teachers may join the AIA at the Student Member rates. Proof of status is required.
