AIA Society: Niagara Peninsula

In celebration of International Archaeology Day, the Niagara Peninsula society will host two lectures at the Brown Homestead in St. Catharines. Our first speaker, Jessica Linzel, who works at the site, will discuss their recent archaeological surveys, finds, and public engagement. Our second and main speaker is Alexandra Macdonald, a Postdoctoral Fellow at Brock University, will share her expertise on using flax crops, with 17th and 18th century sources as a guide, to understand the climates necessary for optimal growth and use. Her work is in partnership with Brown Homestead, where she is currently growing a crop of flax. Pre-registration is required to attend this event as there is limited capacity; see the link below.
