AIA-D.C. Society and University of Maryland, College Park Host Lecture for International Archaeology Day


The event was co-sponsored by the University of Maryland, College Park.

In celebration of International Archaeology Day, the Washington, D.C. Society of the AIA co-sponsored a successful lecture with the Department of Classics of the University of Maryland, College Park.  Dr. Joseph L. Rife of Vanderbilt University delivered the lecture titled “Life, Death, and memory at a port in Roman Greece: Current Investigations at Kenchreai to a large audience of about 50 students, faculty, and Society members on his recent archaeological investigations at Kenchreai, the eastern port of ancient Corinth in Greece.
