AIA-Tucson Society International Archaeology Day Event

The students asking questions during the lecture

On October 17th, the AIA-Tucson Society visited the potential next generation of archaeologists at Tucson BASIS school to host “Peoples of the Past: A Trip to the Archaeologies of the World.” The lecture celebrated International Archaeology Day and explained the different cultures of the world! The talk covered the most important periods of the human past in the Old and New Worlds. The 32 students in attendance were eager to know more about how archaeologists can learn from the objects they find in the excavations, and how those help them to understand the peoples that preceded us.
