On October 18th, Professor Katherine Schwab of Fairfield University’s Art History Department gave a lecture to over 60 at the Bruce Museum of Greenwich, Connecticut. She spoke about her work on deciphering the hairstyles of ancient Greece, a project inspired by the Caryatids of the Athenian Acropolis. Since beginning this study in 2009, Schwab has worked with professional hairstylist Milexy Torres to recreate the iconic ancient style on student volunteers. An 18-minute film of the Caryatid Hairstyling Project accompanied the lecture.
